“We are going to get the oil flowing the way it should be” - US President Donald Trump
PART II: A few days ago I posted a video showing you what happened when I tried to add topics I wanted to see more of to my Instagram algorithm. I went back in today and it looks like Meta has made some updates. An important change and the right change.
This speaks for itself. Meta has a new feature that claims to let you control your algorithm. Look what happens when I try to add the topics I want to see more of.
There is always a tweet… I can’t think of another US politician who has contradicted himself as much as this guy while getting a pass, time and time again.
Israel’s Prime Minister wasted no time in linking the Bondi Beach attack to calls for recognizing a Palestinian State. @peter_beinart explains why such an accusation makes no sense.
TIME has chosen “the architects of AI” as its Person of the Year. This is so on brand for where America is… an industry that has yet to produce an actual solution to any of the planet’s pressing problems and ailments - like curing a disease, alleviating poverty or reversing climate change - is lauded for its unrealized promises… meanwhile its actual demonstrable evil use goes largely ignored.
Sen. Sanders’ speech on the senate floor shortly before 8 Democrats defected and voted with Republicans to end the government shutdown without guarantees on healthcare tax credits for tens of millions of Americans
OPINION: What does Zohran Mamdani’s victory offer Democrats as a template for how to run in the midterms? I share my thoughts on his historic win and the lessons learned and perhaps the most important issue is that marrying pocket book issues and dignity is inseparable from speaking unambiguously about the moral issues of our time.

Donald Trump continues to single out and attack Jewish American voters based on who they vote for.
Antisemitism continues to be normalized by the highest and most powerful voices in Republican and conservative circles.
File this under religious extremism. The sycophantic Lindsey Graham spoke at the Republican Jewish Coalition saying Trump has been “killing all the right people cutting your taxes.”
“We’ve run out of bombs, we didn’t run out of bombs in WWII”
Former White House press secretary Karine Jean Pierre says she has no regrets about anything she said from the White House podium on behalf of the Biden administration.
“I’m very proud of everything I did”
I don’t know if Jared Kushner lives in an information bubble and is not familiar with the war crimes Israel has committed over the past two years. Or perhaps he is very familiar with Israeli tactics and the atrocities that have been documented but doesn’t think they rise to the level of barbarism.
Regardless of what Jared says, Israel’s actions in Gaza will never be erased and they will be studied and taught for generations to come along other examples of state-sponsored evil and barbarism.
Jeez… I wonder where right-wing Americans and their media outlets are getting the idea that if they just label everyone as a “terrorist” it can justify shooting them in the head?
I wonder which playbook they are taking that from!
Apparently there is no where safe in America for undocumented migrants - even at the Bad Bunny Super Bowl halftime show!
But if you are Corey Lewandowski, a sexual harasser and physical abuser, you are safe in a Trump administration.
Since we all have such short memories… let’s take a minute to remember to Tony Blair’s contribution to the Middle East in his own words.
Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is scheduled to speak at the UN General Assembly on Friday. He will be the first and only sitting leader to address the UN as an indicted war criminal with a warrant out for his arrest.
Does international law still matter? Is it applied equally across member states? Will Benjamin Netanyahu ever be held accountable?
Ken Roth, the former executive director of Human Rights Watch, recently joined us on theweekendprime to share his thoughts.
The US seems to be following in the footsteps of Israel by increasingly restricting press freedoms among defense and national security reporters.
It is part of a trend to restrict and intimidate reporters in the U.S. which the Committee to Protect Journalists has warned is growing and alarming.
Israel already has one of the most robust military censorship regimes for a so-called western democracy. And it has also killed more journalists than any other country.
This week, while the media hyper-fixated on Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to Israel, another visit by two sitting U.S. senators to the region got much less attention but their findings should not be ignored.
The Van Hollen-Merkley report concluded that Israel, under Benjamin Netanyahu, is IMPLEMENTING a plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza from Palestinians and that the U.S. is complicit. They determined the world must stop it.
Did Israel’s Prime Minister just play Donald Trump - and the America - yet again?
Watch my analysis on how it’s a bad look for the U.S. regardless of whether Trump personally knew about it or not.
“Please don’t boo our dear leader”
Americans have always had a particularly special ability to mock, ridicule, criticize, boo and praise their leaders.
It is sacrosanct to American identity.
Yet due to the fragility of Donald Trump’s ego, his vindictive personality, his willingness to abuse his unchecked powers and the cowardice of American corporations and media to meet the moment and to stand up in defense of democracy, this is what we have become.
What. A. Shame.
