Happy Birthday, New Mexico!
Today would have been my mother's 98th birthday. And while I miss her terribly, I'm glad she is not alive to see the tragedy that is our world now. It would have broken her heart.
Happy birthday to my beautiful, loving, fierce mom. ❤️
This morning I watched as two older men - flannel jackets, gimme ball caps, white ponytails - helped a third gentleman (and his walker) out of the back seat of a 1955 Fordmatic Fairlane. They were headed to Mcdonald's for their morning coffee, but you could tell these three were pure mischief. That's the energy I want when I get to be their age.
😎
Let's see who in Washington just sold off their holdings... or who will buy once it bottoms out. Tarriffs this radical were not aimed at China. It's just another manipulation of the market.

POV: On the eve of the shutdown
Most people:
"We're going to have to cut back and watch our expenses for a while."
Me:
Pulling out my survival manuals and Foxfire books. "I know my notes on flintknapping are here somewhere..."
IYKYK 😎
Have you ever wondered what it was like to be part of a hot air balloon chase crew? Now is your chance. Sign up at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta (Oct 4-13) to help out some of our visiting pilots. You might even get a chance to go up!
Look for the Chase Crew kiosk at the south end of the field, near Sid Cutter Pavilion. Let's Fly! ☀️

I'm convinced the rapture actually happened because traffic was nonexistent this morning in Albuquerque.

Where I want to moove...
2:52 am. Some guy walking down the street screaming FU at the top of his lungs. Part of me wants to tell him to shut up. The other part wants to go out and join him.
Oops... that s/b IMPRESS. 🫠
A fine day rafting the Rio Grande with adaptive_sports_nm Shout out to newwaverafting for a great team of river guides. Everything was smooth as silk.

Stay safe out there, everybody. Winds are fierce tonight.
The lovely thing about all the protests is that they are not limited to a single party, age group, skin color, religion, etc. These are just Americans, raising their voices in peaceful protest, which is their constitutional right.
More powerful than a hundred tanks.
More patriotic than a dozen parades.
Brighter than a thousand fireworks.

Midnight in NW ABQ. Usually the night is a symphony of street racing and coyotes. Tonight it was punctuated by shots from a semiautomatic weapon... It was an oddly appropriate accompaniment to the live-streamed papal inauguration in Rome. Pope Leo will be ministering to a troubled world.
It was a beautiful day to fly in Albuquerque. Thirty two balloons took to the air!
Good morning, Canada!

P.S. Please don't make the same mistakes we did.
For seniors living in New Mexico, now is a time to review the State Plan on Aging and make comments. #seniors

Easter 2025. The faithful are making their way to El Santuario de Chimayo. Praying for their safety and for healing.
Apparently there is an entire market for instigating anger and outrage. [Not that we need any excuse these days]. Pay attention to what the intent of a post is. Are they disseminating information or just looking for reactions? Clickbait comes in many forms.
