It literally only covers 2,000 kids; it’s a pilot program. It also only happened because of establishment Dem governor Hochul; Mamdani did nothing to accomplish this. It’s the definition of incremental. Also, Biden tried to pass universal childcare 4 years ago, but was stopped by Manchin/Sinema. The entire state of New Mexico actually has universal childcare. Why do Progressives insist on ignoring facts to sell their narratives?

She’s an absolute legislative rockstar! Some other members of Congress have little to no legislation, but they love the cameras and have broad name recognition; they get soundbites and lots of donations. Underwood gets shit done for millions of Americans. She’s not my district in IL, but she’d have my vote for any statewide/federal office she ran for (I was hoping she’d go for Durbin’s open senate seat). We need more legislators and fewer grandstanders.
